Three Steps to Holiness

The Bible alone cannot solve the world’s problems, any more than possessing a bottle of aspirin automatically cures a headache. It does little good to own a Bible, but never read it; or to read the Bible but not understand it; or to comprehend its message, but not put it into practice. Too many Christians think owning a Bible by itself will solve their problems.
They are like people who pound their heads with a hammer and then complain of having a headache. Stopping unhealthy habits and behavior is only Step One. Step Two: having the right medicine. But simply having aspirin won’t automatically cure a headache. Step Three: you must take it according to directions and let it become a part of you.
The same holds true for the Bible, especially the Gospel, prescribed by the Divine Physician. Read it every day. Digest it through prayer, and LIVE IT in your daily life. The world may not improve right away, but you will.
